Following list gives you the exact idea about the evolution of programming languages. Machine Language (1940-1950): Machine language or assembly language is a low-level programming language that uses binary code to communicate with the computer. This language basically deals with only 0's and 1's FORTRAN (1957): FORTRAN (Formula Translation) was the first high-level programming language, designed to solve scientific and engineering problems.
